当代艺术的绘画实践中,绘画与图像的关系依然紧密,使用图像素材进行绘画创作
成为一种普遍方法,其具体的实践是多样的。现阶段对于通过图像素材进行绘画创作的
研究,大多将注意力集中在两种媒介形式的视觉转化,以及促使这种转化出现的现实因
素和历史意义,而从艺术家个人创作和工作方法的角度探索图像素材的使用策略,其重
要性是被低估的,笔者认为,这一更具体的视角所能呈现的艺术家工作细节对于今天的
使用图像素材的艺术实践是有启发意义的。
本文以弗朗西斯·培根和吕克·图伊曼斯作为主要研究对象。二位艺术家都使用图
像素材进行绘画,他们的作品样貌呈现出巨大的差异性,但他们的艺术结构又至使他们
会面对相似的问题,使得两人可以在同一套框架中进行比对。这种包含巨大差异性的比
对可以更全面地拓展人们对于绘画中图像策略的理解和想象。
本文由两个部分组成。第一部分聚焦到艺术家绘画从图像到图像素材的阶段,主要
涉及艺术家对图像和图像素材的态度,对图像素材的选择、处理及其缘由;第二部分聚
焦到艺术家绘画从图像素材到绘画的阶段,主要涉及艺术家的行为逻辑、绘画行为,进
而通过逻辑梳理和具体案例分析观察图像素材在艺术家各自艺术结构下的一系列转化。
本文以图像素材为线索,切入培根和图伊曼斯两位艺术家的艺术创作,通过对大量
文献的阅读和具体案例的分析,将两位艺术家置于同一系统中进行比对和分析,挖掘艺
术家在绘画创作中对使用图像素材的思考和实践,进而发现图像素材参与二位艺术家整
个创作流程并体现在诸多细节。虽然艺术家的行为由自身的艺术结构开展,但不论在绘
画行为之前还是之后,图像素材的使用始终作为一个重要环节影响着艺术家的具体工
作。

In the painting practice of contemporary art, the relationship between painting and image
is still close, and the use of image materials to create painting has become a common method,
and its specific practice is diverse. At present, most of the researches on painting creation
through image materials focus on the visual transformation of the two media forms, as well as
the realistic factors and historical significance that promote this transformation, while the
importance of exploring the use strategy of image materials from the perspective of artists'
personal creation and working methods has been underestimated. The details of the artist's
work that this more specific perspective can present are instructive for today's art practices
using image materials.
This paper takes Francis Bacon and Luc Tuymans as the main research objects. Both
artists use image materials to paint, and their works show great differences in appearance, but
their artistic structure makes them face similar problems, so that they can be compared in the
same set of frames. This comparison, which includes huge differences, can more
comprehensively expand people's understanding and imagination of the image strategy in
painting.
This article consists of two parts. The first part focuses on the stage of the artist's
painting from image to image material, mainly involving the artist's attitude towards image
and image material, the selection and processing of image material and their reasons; The
second part focuses on the stage of the artist's painting from image material to painting,
mainly involving the artist's behavior logic and painting behavior, and then observes a series
of transformations of image material under the artist's own artistic structure through logical
sorting and specific case analysis.
Taking image materials as clues, this paper cuts into the artistic creation of Bacon and
Tuymans. By reading a large number of documents and analyzing specific cases, the two
artists are placed in the same system for comparison and analysis, and the artists' thinking and
practice on the use of image materials in painting creation are explored. It is found that image
materials participate in the entire creative process of the two artists and are reflected in many
details. The use of image materials has always been an important link affecting the artist's
specific work, both before and after the painting behavior.
