Research on the Application of Individual "Body Technology" in performance art

The body is the most common medium for people to communicate. From primitive tribes using gestures for communication, to later sacrificial movements, and to dance, the body as a means of communication has accompanied the development of human civilization. Performance art can not be separated from the body. As the most common medium, 20th century artists used their bodies as a platform to express their dissatisfaction with the society and politics of that time. As the most direct way of creative expression, whether painters, sculptors, dramatists, poets, or even the most avant-garde Dada artists at that time, when practicing inspiration or encountering bottlenecks, performance art was used as a breakthrough to find new expressions. People in different professional fields are constantly developing performance art with different body understandings. These different understandings of the body act on different 'body techniques'. This paper discusses the presentation of "individual body technology" in performance art, and divides the paper into four parts around this theme: Part One: The so-called "body technique" includes any action that our body can perform. The concept of body technology has been developed in sociology, anthropology, history, kinematics and many other fields since it was proposed, but it has not formed a systematic theoretical system. The formation of body technology is closely related to the social and cultural environment in which people live. By discussing the relationship between body technology and the body, and discussing the reasons for the formation of body technology from sports, dance, anatomy, and other aspects, the importance of body technology in application is ultimately discussed. Part Two: By studying the development context of performance art, and taking time as a clue, summarize the reasons for the rise of performance art in each time period, creative forms and themes, find the use of the body, and further discuss how the body narrative and expression. Part Three: Although it seems that performance art will be combined with the scene and played on the spot, it is the result of artists/participants through a large number of pre creation and continuous practice. By studying the understanding and training of the body in the performance art works of Marina Abramovich, Xie Deqing and Lin Tingjun, this paper discusses the role of body technology in performance art. Part IV: In order to further study the characteristics and extension of the application of "individual body technology" in the creation of performance art, we take a practical approach, formulate corresponding rules according to the physical characteristics of different participants, and carry out corresponding training. Finally, we select appropriate scenes according to the movement characteristics of participants, and finally form a complete work on body technology.
