19世纪中期前后，艺术才从某些为社会服务的义务中解脱出来。此时，工业革命的爆发使人们的生活发生了本质的变化，而科学技术给人类带来极大物质财富的同时，也使人们失去了精神上的支柱。在艺术领域，随着社会环境的改变，艺术家们隐约感觉到对对象的形象描绘本身是一种束缚、一种负担，绘画的目的不再是机械的模仿自然，必须突破它的限制解放艺术家自己，解放绘画，寻找新的出路。回归人性的纯朴与最真挚的内心情感，就是现代艺术家所追求的。他们试图找回原始的艺术本源，试图仿照儿童艺术的语言形式来直接地表达情感，于是乎，具有“童趣”特征的艺术作品成为20世纪的新局面之一。

     儿童艺术虽然只是整个绘画艺术领域中的个别或特殊艺术形式，它以独特的语言形式执着于自身情感最直接的表达和宣泄，对绘画艺术产生了巨大影响。很多现代艺术家都感受到了儿童艺术的魅力，保罗·克利的作品是最为丰富，最值得探讨的，因此，克利的儿童崇拜是我想探析的。
